A full-service homeschool support group based in Lexington but serving all of Central Kentucky. We offer field trips, standardized testing, Learning Zone, community services, mentoring, mom's night out, area and national discounts, extra curricular opportunities, online forum, seasonal socials, bees, academic contests and more. All members volunteer which spreads the work and offers more activities for members. Description: A full service K-8 homeschool support group. (We work in cooperation with Bluegrass United for High School grades.) We have 150 member families (2006). A member-run organization; everyone volunteers. Requirements: Must be a bona fide homeschooling family.All members honor Christian-Judeo values.Each member family is required to volunteer for at least one event/activity per year.

We are a secular (not religiously affiliated) group valuing diversity, creativity and open mindedness. Our members choose a wide range of approaches to homeschooling including classical, eclectic, Waldorf and unschooling but are united by our common love of our children.

Description: The Math and Science club meets from 12:30 -3 pm the first three Tuesdays of the month from September through May at First Presbyterian Church, Georgetown, Kentucky. Classes taught are Bilogy, Math and art and history of weaving. Mission Statement: Homeschool Math and Science Club is a cooperative academic organization, whose goal is to provide the environment, resources and time to inspire our children to be good stewards of our earth and universe; To encourage them to think deeply and seek knowledge to create a "Learner's heart" with desire to discover and learn more and to inspire by example. We seek to do this in an encouraging and exciting hands-on manner. We have no specific religious denominational ties and religious affiliation is not a factor in our membership. Our goal is to broaden the minds of our children to embrace all that this world has to offer.
Requirements: The Math & Science Club is a cooperative and you will be expected to help with light duties such as clean-up and assisting the classroom teachers. A sign-up sheet will be available.Decisions and policies are made by parents during meetings held on the first Tuesday of each month. Parents are warmly encouraged to provide input and ideas and to attend the meetings. These meetings are informal and open to all interested co-op participants.
Benefits: Interested families are always welcome to visit the co-op and meet with teachers and students. Advance notice is appreciated but not required. Field trips are usually planned when a fifth Tuesday occurs in a month. Ideas for this year's field trips include special programs at Cardome, another trip to The Little Loom House, and a visit to the Frazier Arms Museum.
Cost: Tuition is $20/month for the 1st child, $10/month for each other child in a family.

Benefits: We publish a monthly newsletter and have occasional field trips. Each year we sponsor a spelling bee, geography bee and science fair. We also have a large used curriculum sale in June.
