The IAHE is a non-profit organization founded in 1983 for the purpose of serving the Lord Jesus Christ through supporting and encouraging families interested in home education. Their primary functions are maintaining visibility as home educators with civil government leaders, influencing the legislative process, and sponsoring seminars for parent education. They also publish a free bimonthly magazine, The IAHE Informer. Our statewide annual convention serves to encourage those who have been homeschooling for a number of years and those who are just getting started. This annual event offers a large number of workshops and an exhibit hall filled with curriculum and other helpful materials.

Description: Our support group centers around our Catholic faith. We get together to celebrate feasts of the Church year -- Christmas, Easter, Marian feast days, St. Valentine's Day, All Saints' Day, etc. we also have a men's and women's book group, Little Flower's girls group, and TEA (Time for Encouragement and Appreciation) for Mom's once a month. We also have field trips planned throughout the year. We currently have approximately 35 families in the group, with children ranging in ages from birth through high school.

Requirements: The only requirement is to pay the yearly dues.

Benefits: We have a bimonthly newsletter, planned field trips at least once a month, and a prayer chain.

Description: Heart is a Christian Home School support group. It is a member led and member actuated group intended to provide support for local homeschool families. The goal is to provide resources, activities, encouragement, and personal connections that will enhance and strengthen your ability to educate your children and bring them up in the Lord Jesus Christ. We also have a blast getting to know each other and participating in activities together.

Requirements: You are required to join a committee to volunteer on and membership is $50 ($40 before June 9).

We believe in the inerrancy of the Bible and that it is the foundation upon which all education should be based (Jeremiah 10:2, Joshua 1:8, II Timothy 3:16, Colossians 2:8, James 1:5, and Deuteronomy 6:6-9). No denomination or individual doctrine will be promoted.

Description: This is an online group. We do not have formal meetings. It is to provide information to homeschoolers and homelearners about any area activities, events, classes, groups, lessons -anything of benefit or good interest to homeschoolers. We have information about free curriculum and learning aids available online, by mail, or locally. We also like reviews and news of materials that aren't free. We have lesson plan and unit study info. We do our best to answer questions of new homeschoolers. We try to cover all ages and many interests.

Requirements: No requirements other than to follow normal posting and conversation guidelines.

Benefits: We only physically get together with each other if it is brought about by members on their own. There are no physical meetings regularly planned or mandatory.

Description: LIFE Learning Center Homeschool Committee is comprised of a steering committee and homeschool family members who work together to provide cooperative learning experiences centered around LIFE Learning Center in Anderson. Each year a four person steering committee is elected to lead the group and serves for a two year overlapping schedule. We are member led, democratic, inclusive, non-discriminatory, and multi-cultural. We exit to outreach to homeschoolers in our geographic region and to offer quality support and activities for area homeschoolers.

Requirements: All Parents are expected to contribute to the group's functioning by either serving on a steering committee, organizing activities, teaching classes, and through their financial support of our programming.

Benefits: We have a parent night on the first Thursday of each month, weekly co-op classes, a chess club, Thespians Teen Drama Group, a Teen Club, weekly swimming, science fair, geography fair, spelling bee, field trips, park days, a directory, special events, age related groups. We have approximately 65 families with over 100 children ages 18 and under. We also have a homeschool resource room for curriculum, textbooks, used book sale., etc.

Description: We are an eclectic group encompassing very different backgrounds and teaching styles. We meet nearly twice a week ( Mondays and Fridays generally) for gym time, some organized activities, group field trips and parties. On one Friday afternoon a month we sponsor homeschool bowling for any homeschooler who wants to come. We don't have a web site, but do send out emails about activities, anyone who would like to be added to the mailing list can send a request to :

Requirements: We have no requirements for membership. Some of our members are active, while others will only come to a couple of activities during the year.

Benefits: In addition to regular activities, we usually have parties for Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day and Easter. We often go to a pumpkin farm in October and have a science fair and talent show sometime in the spring. Other field trips and activities are planned when there is interest.
